Show Review
Built to Spill, Lilly Liver, The Delusions: May 8 First Ave: The Delusions from Seattle started out the night they played some tight songs with strong harmonys and lots of distortion on the guitars. Their last song "Death before Disco" was amazing, about a ten minute jam with swirling guitars and sonic distortion, good stuff! Next was Minneapolis' Lilly Liver playing some great power punk pop, if you have the chance go see them live you wont be dissapointed! They are even reciving alot of radio airplay Finally the almighty Built to Spill hopped on stage and the volume was cranked up. BTS started out with some songs off the new album and they had a second guitar player that Doug introduced as Jim. A couple of songs later Brett Netson[Caustic Resin] jumped up on stage and they played a Caustic Resin song . Brett stayed on the whole rest of the set I think BTS was so much tighter with the three guitarists on stage all completing that beautiful wall of sound "Randy Described Eternity" was mind blowing!!! BTS played songs off the last two albums with "Twin Falls" thrown in off there 1994 album "Theres Nothing Wrong With Love" They did not play anything off their first two albums, oh well, They were awsome to say the least. They ended the set with about a forty minute jam filled with distortion, delay, wah, feedback, rythem, The crowd just swerved back in forth in awe of what was going on on the stage. Do what ever it takes to go see this band live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
